Structures and Civil Works Serving Industrial and Technological Plants
Spike Renewables operates in the design and construction of steel structures and civil works serving complex industrial and technological plants, integrating structural, mechanical, and safety engineering expertise. Over the years, activities have included new constructions, upgrading and strengthening of existing structures, and special civil works, often carried out in operating industrial environments with significant operational constraints. The adopted approach is focused on structural functionality, long-term durability, and full compliance with applicable technical standards and regulations.

Special steel structures and industrial equipment
A significant portion of the work has involved special steel structures serving process plants, such as gas holders, pipe racks, and support structures for industrial equipment. Interventions included static and seismic vulnerability assessments, design of local strengthening measures, replacement of deteriorated elements, and upgrading of connections, with particular attention to structural safety and continuity of operation. In several cases, work was carried out on existing structures characterized by layered construction phases over time, developing targeted strengthening solutions that improved performance without the need for extensive demolition.

Pipe racks and support structures for process networks
Spike Renewables has developed solid experience in the design and strengthening of steel pipe racks, often extensive and articulated, supporting process networks and complex industrial plants. Activities included finite element structural modeling, verification of critical members, strengthening of columns, beams, and bracing systems, and upgrading of connections. This type of intervention requires careful management of interference with existing piping and accurate planning of operational phases, aspects that were addressed through dedicated design solutions.

Industrial canopies and protective structures
Another area of intervention concerns the design and construction of canopies and roofing structures serving production and storage plants. Designed structures include single- or multi-slope roofs made of steel beams and trusses, lightweight roofing systems, and rainwater collection systems. These works were developed taking into account environmental and chemical operating conditions, providing appropriate protective treatments such as hot-dip galvanizing and special coating systems to ensure structural durability.

Industrial buildings and technical rooms
Spike Renewables has also designed and constructed new industrial buildings and technical rooms serving plants, intended to house process skids, electrical switchboards, and auxiliary equipment. The structures include steel frames, perimeter cladding, roofing systems, internal finishes, and integration with existing building services networks. In these projects, particular attention was given to space functionality, operator safety, and ease of maintenance of installed equipment.

Civil works and special foundations
In addition to steel structures, Spike Renewables managed the design and construction of civil works and special foundations, such as foundation slabs, tank bases, support plinths, and retaining structures. Foundations were designed based on static and dynamic equipment loads, geotechnical conditions, and the chemical characteristics of the handled fluids, providing for the use of reinforced or specially formulated concrete and dedicated construction solutions. Civil works were integrated with water collection and drainage systems, ensuring compatibility with existing infrastructure.

Standards, safety, and durability
All structural interventions were developed in compliance with the applicable Building Codes and Technical Standards for Construction, as well as the main regulations governing both existing and new structures. Design activities included the definition of execution classes, qualification of materials and welding procedures, and preparation of the required technical and certification documentation. Attention to long-term durability and maintenance represents a core element of the adopted design approach.
